Kemp, Paul 6/25/1937 - 12/24/2021 Kalamazoo Paul W. Kemp passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021, in Rose Arbor Hospice. He was born June 25, 1937, in Kalamazoo, MI, a son of Forrest and Katherine (Schrier) Kemp and had been a lifelong area resident. After graduating from Comstock High School, Paul served his country in the military as an Infantryman in Fort Hood Texas. After returning in 1962, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Dykgraaf, and they recently celebrated 58 years of marriage. His love of family, strong faith, and high work ethic enabled Paul to be a role model for many. Paul was employed at the Upjohn Company where he worked for 46 years in machinery set up, receiving numerous awards for his dedication and work. After his first retirement in 1992 he was called back to work again with Pfizer and finished his career a few years later. He enjoyed spending summer weekends with the family at Sandy Pines, gardening, and sporting events. He served as a Deacon in church and volunteer for several groups including the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission and Second Impressions. Paul was known for his big heart, strong moral compass, faith, and willingness to help. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Gene Kemp, along with brother-in-law William Murray. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, his daughters, Paula (Jeff) Nagel and Debra (Mike) Sciba; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Stelzer, Nathan Nagel, and Kaylee Nagel; great-grandson Brooks Stelzer; sister, Helen Murray; brother Dale (Dorothy) Kemp; sister-in-law Charlotte Kemp, and nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11am Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo MI 49009. Paul's family will receive guests at the funeral home beginning at 10am and immediately following the service during a reception. Private interment with military honors will be held in Ft.
