On Sunday, January 26th, 2020, Patrick Baker, loving husband, father, and papa, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 55. Patrick was born April 13, 1964 in Kalamazoo, MI to Clarence and Evelyn Baker. He worked for many years as an electrician with the IBEW 131 and 252 at the University of Michigan before retiring. On September 14, 1991, he married Amy Lynn Baker. Together they raised three children. Two sons, Matthew and Ayden, and one daughter, Meghan. Patrick had a passion for Michigan football, hunting and motorcycles. He also loved spending time with his two granddaughters, Sophia and Juliana. Patrick was a family man to the fullest and loved spending time with his family whenever possible. Patrick spent a lot of his time coaching baseball, where he was a mentor for a lot of his players. He had four dogs he loved like his own children, Jaxon, Candice, Ranger, and Ginger. In his spare time, he loved hanging out with friends, kayaking, traveling, and riding his motorcycle. Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, and his brother and sister, Jerry and Colleen. He is survived by his wife, Amy; three children, Matthew (Hannah) Baker, Meghan, and Ayden; grandchildren, Sophia and Juliana; mother, Evelyn Baker; in-laws, Linda DeLoof and Elliot Curtis; sister, Dawn (Steve) Ashby along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate and honor Patrick's life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Greenwood Reformed Church, 1815 Winton Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49001, with Pastor Rob Link officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service.
