Patricia Ann (Hunsberger) Koning was called home to Heaven on December 19th, 2023, one day shy of her 83rd birthday. Born on December 20th, 1940 in Allegan, Michigan to the late Thomas Irvin and Lillian Wave Hunsberger, Pat was best known for her servant's heart and ability to bring life and joy anywhere she went.

After graduating from Bloomingdale High School, she married Sam Page and started their family. Pat pursued a career in nursing that was unfortunately cut short by a back injury, but that did not stop her from dedicating her life to serving people and the community. In 1976, she married Harold John Koning and they spent decades taking school pictures for many of the schools in the Kalamazoo area. A long-time member of Bethany Reformed Church, Pat was also a faithful servant of the Lord. Better known to those that loved her as "Gogo", she lived her life for her family and friends.

Fondly remembered as "The Pie Lady", she won the Kalamazoo Gazette Holiday Cookbook competition multiple times and developed a loyal following of dessert-lovers. In addition to serving & baking, Pat was also known for enjoying the little things in life, like: fishing Muskrat Lake's bluegill beds with a cane pole, finding her favorite slot machines at the local casino, crafting the perfect costumes to embarrass her granddaughter, playing BUNCO with friends at Weatherstone Village, maintaining the most perfectly pruned rose beds, developing an impressive Precious Moments collection, picking blueberries at Fritz Farm, and so much more. Those who knew her will certainly miss her mischievous personality and contagious smile.

Patricia is survived by her children, Kevin (Rheta) Page, Pamela (Lee) Foland, Shelley (Douglas) Witt; Marilyn (Mark) Szatkowski, Douglas (Paula) Koning, Paul (Linda) Koning, and June McHugh; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her 2 sisters and 4 brothers, and her stepson Dale Koning & grandson Josh Koning.

The family will receive guests for visitation from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. The funeral service will be held directly after the visitation, followed by the procession to Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, where she will be laid to rest next to Harold at 2:00PM.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethany Reformed Church, 1833 South Burdick Street Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
