Pal Shinault

Was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Bronson Hospital of South Haven. Pal was born July 22, 1939 in Marked Tree, Arkansas the son of Joseph and Luvicie (Phillips) Shinault and has lived the majority of his life in the Grand Junction area. Pal was a member of the Bangor Free Methodist Church, where he was active on the board and did the general maintenance. Pal was baptized at the Maple Grove Bible Church in 1976 by Pastor Jack Oliver. He enjoyed Tigers baseball, motorcycling, snowmobiling, dune buggies, his old truck, and fixing everything, and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He was loved by everybody, was the favorite uncle, and never met a stranger. Pal loved his family more than anything. Surviving are his wife, Eva whom he married in 1982; 3 sons, David (Rhonda) Shinault of Coloma, Rusty (William) Shinault of Lakeland, FL, Danny (Lauri) Shinault of Kalamazoo; 3 step-children, Kim (Hank) Klok of Otsego, Kevin (Mica) Garrett of Longmont, CO, Dawn Distefano of Indian Rocks Beach, FL; 56 grandchildren including great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Rachel Maynard, Bertha Truelove, Judith Kennedy, Dola Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Shinault, Luvicie Menieur; step-father, Harper Menieur; sister, Gladys Ashlock; brother, Deloyd Stipes, James Shinault; and step-son, Gary Garrett; grandson, Gage Jenkins. The family will meet friends from 2-4 and from 6-8 PM Thursday at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, at the Bangor Free Methodist Church, with Pastor Daniel Stout officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Hill Cemetery.
