Obituary
Otto A. Kruezer, 88, of Portage, passed away at his home May 28, 2026. He was born May 8, 1938, to Otto B. & Elena (Horvath) Kreuzer, and was raised primarily in Chicago.
He worked full time from an early age, and his job as a freight handler in Chicago railroad yards enabled him to attend Purdue University, from where he obtained a B.S. in Pharmacy in 1959. After graduation he worked for a brief time in retail pharmacy and then joined the Upjohn Co. in late 1960. He was Chairman of the Kalamazoo City Democratic Party in the 1960s. He retired from Upjohn after 32 years in the position of Executive Director of International Regulatory Affairs, a position which required extensive global travel. After retirement he served as a mentor at Loy Norrix H.S; was an Adjunct Professor at WMU; served on the Board of Directors of Gryphon Place for 6 years, (2 years as Chairman) and several years at the Community Healing Centers, where he continued as an Emeritus Board member.
He is survived by his wife Ann Marie; children Adam (Nancy), John and Beth Anne; grandchildren Jacob, Emma (Anthony), Aubrey (Josh) and Ben; great granddaughters Annie and June. Stepchildren Rebecca, Nicholas (Lindsy), Thomas (Melissa) and several great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements by Adams-Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo.
