Bigley, Norman 12/24/2021 Kalamazoo It is with great sadness and surprise that we announce the death of Norman "Norm" Bigley, He was born in Kalamazoo on the 5th of December 1948 to John and Marian (Butler) Bigley. He passed on 25 December 2021 from this life into the arms of his Savior. Norman was a graduate of Loy Norrix High School and Western Michigan University with a Bachelors in Engineering. Norman loved his family beyond compare, while he never married he found joy in his 2 older brothers, 3 older sisters and his beloved nieces and nephews. He worked for Fibers of Kalamazoo for most of his working life and retired in the last couple of years Norman had many hobbies to include attending auctions, playing cards with family, collecting bells, bowling, attending church, putting together puzzles, playing cribbage, fixing anything and everything that he could get his hands on, and if he could not fix it he would take it apart and sell if for parts. He served as greeter at his church for about 50 years with great faithfulness. He was bigger than life living life on his own terms serving as a surrogate father, sibling, helper and advocate. Norman had a laugh and a voice that could fill a room, there was never any doubt where he was. Norman was preceded in death by his parents John and Marian (Butler) Bigley, sister Patricia (Bigley) Burnett, brothers in law Robert Burnett, James Smith and Herman Meints, and only preceded by days his, brother John (Jan) Bigley. He leaves behind his sisters Marilyn (Bigley) Smith, Carolyn (Bigley) Meints and brother Martin (Ruth) Bigley. Because he was the youngest and born late in the life of his parents he was close to his nieces (10) and nephews (8) and great nieces and nephews. The memorial service to celebrate Norman's life will be at the Lighthouse Community Church on South 11th Street in Kalamazoo, MI. Visitation will be Monday the 3rd of January, 2022 at 1:00, memorial at 2:00 and light refreshments at 3:00. Masks will be required at the events for Norman.
