Norma J. Wright

August 25, 2023
Kalamazoo, MI

Wright, Norma J.

After 94 wonderful years, our marvelously enchanting mother, Norma (Rayman) Wright took flight to swoop and soar with the butterflies on August 25, 2023.

During her remarkable life, Norma shared her spark with those around her, especially her quiet and often dry sense of humor. She enjoyed Fredrick Meijer Gardens, particularly the butterfly house, took pride in Chrissy, her caringly restored and award winning 1948 wooden Chris Craft boat, and kept company at home with Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and David on QVC. Throughout her life she blessed her family by being involved in activities near and far, appreciated the beauty of all things that flew and glided with ease through the air (except airplanes), and cherished her time on and near the water. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold; her parents, Merritt and Madge; and brother, Donald. Her loving family survives her, including children, Gary Wright (Marie), Amy Wright (Brian Molony), Bill Wright (Kim), Jeff Wright (Theresa) and Tom Wright (Cheri); grandchildren, Nicole Traxler-Wright, Brendan Molony, Meghan Molony, David Wright, Sarah (Kyle) Wright Bell, Alex Wright (Brenna) and Tiffany Hazel (Robert); and great grandchildren, Gwen, Lilly and Addy Wright, Kevin, Natalie and Eli Hazel and Emily and "baby" Bell who will arrive in November.

A private burial will be held on September 1, with a Memorial Celebration for family and friends at the Cottage to follow on what would have been her 95th birthday, September 24, 2023. Arrangements entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Crisp Point Lighthouse Foundation or Meijer Gardens in memory of Norma Wright. Please visit to leave an online condolence.
