Norma J. Doorlag, age 79 of Kalamazoo, died at her home February 9, 2020. She was born March 1, 1940, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Harm and Rena (Johnson) Doorlag. Norma graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1958. She worked at Kalamazoo Sled Company and Triestram's Drug Store. Norma was feisty with a heart of gold and was fiercely devoted to her family. She selflessly cared for her parents as they aged. Following her father's death in 2001, Norma came to know the Lord and became a member of the 1st Congregational Church of Otsego. She served the church with a generous heart. Her family includes her brothers and sisters: Albert (Nancy) Doorlag, Marsha Brown, and Tom (Margo) Doorlag; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wayne VanAuken, Clara Doorlag, Robert Zanardi, and Patricia Doorlag; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters: Marian VanAuken, Herman Doorlag, Jeanie Carpenter, Doris Zanardi, Richard Doorlag, Lloyd Doorlag, and Betty Kneller. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where her Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, February 17, 2020, with Pastor Jim Dyke officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Flowers are very welcomed, but donations may be made to St. Andrew Community Church.
