Nancy Kaercher

Passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with her family by her side. Nancy was born on March 8, 1945, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to the late Alfred and Edna (Jesswein) Bender. After graduating from high school, Nancy attended Western Michigan University, where she earned her bachelor's degree. While attending a mixer at WMU, she met the love of her life, Maury. The two were married on January 14, 1967, and shared over 59 years together. Nancy worked for both The Upjohn Company and Western Michigan University during her career. In her free time, she enjoyed tending her garden, selling the locally famous Kaercher Sweet Corn, and helping Maury with his many endeavors. She was also a proud supporter of her sons and granddaughters in their 4-H projects and activities and loved watching them grow and succeed. Surviving Nancy are her sons, Todd (Michelle) Kaercher and Kevin (Jessica) Kaercher; granddaughters Shelby Kaercher and Riley Kaercher; and her brother, Terry (Jan) Bender. Preceding her in passing are her parents and her husband, Maury. Friends are welcome to join the family for a memorial gathering on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009. Visitation will also be held the following day, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Following the service, guests are invited to stay for lunch. Nancy will be laid to rest the following morning at Prairie Home Cemetery in Richland, Michigan at 10:00 a.m.
