Went to her heavenly home on November 8, 2013, at the age of 94. Born near Hastings, MI to John and Elma Verde (Knowles) Usborne, she graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1936, and married Lawrence H. Pyle on January 20, 1942. She was a 30 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo; after moving to Gull Lake in 1975, she was a 38 year member of First Presbyterian Church of Richland. She was active in the Whatsoever Free Bed Association, Church Women United, Braille Transcribing, the Shepherd Center, Loaves & Fishes, and supported many other humanitarian causes. She will be lovingly remembered for her Christian faith and sweet disposition by her family and many friends. She is survived by her children, Donald (Susan) Pyle, Barbara (John) Buehler, Lois (Donald) Cairns, 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Alexander Usborne; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; her parents; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Richland, 8047 Church St., Richland, MI 49083, on Saturday November 16, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM.
