Michael McNutt

Michael F. McNutt was born on May 2, 1950, and died on October 13, 2022. His daughter Frances Whalen survives him. The oldest of five children born to Frank and Jaqueline (Jackie) McNutt, he is survived by siblings: Stephen McNutt (Lynn Callow); Julie Bruce (Mark Anderson); Susan Michael; Cynthia and Jim Verity.

Mike established La Font Arts, in 1986. Truly a renaissance man, he specialized in art restoration and appraisal. He was a skilled artist and photographer, known for his focus on detail. La Font Arts comprised his interest in art history, collectible antiques, old and unusual items, and a vast library of books.

A visit to his home in the woods always included a conversation about a recent discovery or experience. He was a devoted naturalist, and interested in gardening, wildlife, birding, fish production, and reptiles. Possessed with an encyclopedic memory, he relished the opportunity to share his knowledge with others, especially young people. Mike sang, played the piano and listened to all kinds of music. He loved dogs and cherished their companionship. A genuinely kind person, he had a million friends!
