Meredith Ray Overhiser passed away on August 18, 2025, in Paw Paw, Michigan, at the age of 78.

Born on April 29, 1947, Meredith served his country honorably in the United States Army as an Armor Crewman during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969. His service was recognized with several commendations, including the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, one Overseas Bar, and the Sharpshooter Badge (M-14).

Throughout his life, Meredith worked as a mechanic and welder, embracing his role as a true jack of all trades. He was known for his cheerful spirit and willingness to lend a hand. Whether tinkering in the garage or enjoying a cold beer, he brought warmth and humor to those around him. Mike was a Life time member at the VFW post 3030.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Ray Overhiser and Juanita Mae Overhiser; his sister Connie Lynn Jackson; and brother-in-law Rick Jackson.

Meredith is survived by his children: Roxanne (Tyman) Jenkins, Kelly (Jason) Edwards, and Norman Overhiser; grandchildren: Kara (Cory) Gates, Kami Coonfare, Tyman (Amanda) Jenkins, Rachel Jenkins, Dominik Overhiser, and Danika Overhiser; great-grandson Rowan Gates; brother Dennis (Susie) Overhiser; sisters Judy (Rudy) Rodriguez, Brenda (Kim) Schultz, and Helen (Jimmy) McTheeney; former wife Debrah Gilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
