Melinda S. Olmstead Binger

Melinda S. Olmstead -Binger, 43, of Springfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, June 4, 2007 at her home in Springfield after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born August 20, 1963 in Battle Creek the daughter of Verle (Slim) Olmstead and Connie Lou (Brown) Olmstead.

She married Brian Binger on May 20, 2006.

Melinda graduated from Pennfield High School in 1982 where she participated in the high school band playing the flute.

She bowled for many years in the Junior Bowling League at M-66 Bowl where she earned many lst place trophies and maintained a high bowling average.

She has been a resident of Battle Creek all of her life. She worked at Koyo Corporation for 9 years. She also enjoyed camping with her family and riding motorcycles.

She is survived by her husband, Brian; children from previous marriages Rachel (Tom) Parsons, Michael and Matthew Lynn all of Battle Creek; mother, Connie Lou Olmstead of Battle Creek; brother, Brian (Carole) Olmstead of Fruitport; sister, Shari Lyn Olmstead of Union City; nephews, Shawn Olmstead of Battle Creek; A.J. and Doug Olmstead of Fruitport; half sister and 3 half brothers; sister in-law, Brenda Binger and grandmother, Wanda Binger.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father; daughter, Michelle Angus; her in-laws Michael and Sue Ann Binger and grandparents, Bruce and Iva Brown.

Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Steven S. Olmstead officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America or Lifespan-Good Samaritan Hospice Care.
