(Formerly of Kalamazoo, MI) Passed away early Tuesday morning, December 17, 2019 in Fort Worth Texas with his son Dale at his side. He was born on March 24, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the son of Max and Dortha (Wilson) Hausermann. A 1953 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and Western Michigan College. On May 20, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dorothy "Ann" Buist. Shortly after their marriage he pursued a career in the electrical trades. He was a respected member of IBEW Local 131, retiring in 1997, after 41 years of service to others and his community. Max raised 4 children (Mark, Debi, Dale, and Dan) and was a foster father to more than 40 infants. Following in his father's footsteps, Max achieved the level of 32nd degree Mason. He was an active member of Parchment United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and serving on the board of trustees, and was instrumental in leading many maintenance projects. Max volunteered at the food pantry and loved working with people in need. He was only a call away when anyone needed help and he was quick to provide knowledge on how to fix almost anything he worked on. Max loved to fish, and instilled in his family a love for the outdoors and camping. His strong faith in God and his love for his family were his two greatest priorities, and he lived them out daily. Preceding him in death was his loving wife of 62 years, Ann on May 8, 2018; a son Mark Hausermann on September 30, 2008. Surviving; 3 children: Deborah (James) Adams, Dale Hausermann, and Dan (Shelly) Hausermann; daughter-in-law: Bernadette (Tom) Braganini; 8 grandchildren: Jenna Hausermann, Rachel (Thomas) Durst, Matt Hausermann, Ryan (Candi) Adams, Ben (Charlie) Adams, Maggie (Jason) Beavers, Corey (Julie) Saganski, and Shane Saganski; 9 great grandchildren: Hannah, Emily, Wyatt, Ava, Lily, Cole, Jordy, Liam and McKenna; one brother: Rev. Carl (Marcia) Hausermann; two brothers-in-law: Phil (Marilyn) Buist and Lee (Shelly) Buist; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Max's life will be held on Friday, February 21st, at Parchment United Methodist Church, 225 Glendale Blvd, Parchment, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:30. Pastor Tom Davenport, and retired pastor Dan Minor will officiate. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service. Private family inurnment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
