Mary Wielenga

Wielenga, Mary Ann Portage, Michigan Mary Ann Wielenga, age 87, died January 7, 2021. She was born September 24, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Leon and Bernice (Davis) Russon. Mary Ann was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She retired as a lab tech from Upjohn Pharmaceuticals. On December 26, 1953, Mary Ann married her lifelong love, Bob Wielenga. Following their retirements, Bob and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling. They had wonderful memories of their time in Florida, Mexico, on several cruises, and cheering on the Detroit Tigers. They loved time spent in the sun at Holland State Park. Over the years, they never missed a chance to support their grandchildren at schooling events. They shared 57 beautiful years together, until Bob's death in 2010. Her family includes her children: Dave Wielenga, Keith (Lisa) Wielenga and Lisa (Tom) Enslen; her grandchildren: Michele (Sean) Chisholm, Anna (Dan) Gelder, Tommy Enslen, Robby Enslen (Taylor Hopkins), Samantha and Dylan Wielenga, Jessica (Emilio) Rodriguez, Danielle Pillars and Heather Wolf (J.T. Turner); and several great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bob. A private family graveside service will be held at Central Portage Cemetery.
