WESTRA - Mary J. Westra, age 89, of Jenison, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2008. She was born on December 23, 1918 to John and Alice Stehouwer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving J. Westra, and son, John I. Westra. Surviving are her children, Thomas and Donna Westra, Suzanne and Kenneth Koster; grandchildren, Janna and Doug Postma, Robert and Sharon Westra, Ken and Lynnette Koster, Kim Koster, Renee and Jeremy Goodemoot; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marion Westra, Kay and Norman Van Horn, Jule and Betty Westra, Jean and Robert Shaffer; several nieces and nephews. Thanks to the caregivers at Sunset Manor, the Laurels and Faith Hospice for the loving care they provided. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Fair Haven Ministries or Sunset Manor.
