Sullivan, Mary Jane "M.J." (Moore) Kalamazoo, Michigan M.J. peacefully went to be with her Lord on September 30, 2020, at home with her daughters by her side. She was born in 1934 to Bruce and Gladys Moore of Hiawatha, KS. After high school graduation, she completed a nursing program in 1955 with a primary focus in obstetrics at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO, where she met and married Dr. Bruce Jeans. In 1970, she attended Indiana University and received a BSN in nursing. In 1973, she also completed one of the nation's first Nurse Practitioner programs in the field of Women's Health. Her second marriage, to Charles Sullivan, in 1975 brought her to Kalamazoo, making M.J. the first Nurse Practitioner in Southwest Lower Michigan, where she was employed by the County Health Department for 20 years. Her passion was music, primarily piano and organ. M.J. shared her musical skills at many churches and on many occasions throughout her life, and was an accomplished and sought-after accompanist. She loved God, and had a passion for Bible study. She attended and hosted many Bible studies, and was faithfully involved in Correspondence Bible Studies for Prisoners. MJ is survived by three daughters: Ann Cirvencic (spouse Francis) of Kalamazoo, Greta Sullivan of Kalamazoo, and Laura Miller (spouse Chuck Deneau) of Kalamazoo; and one niece, Heather Moore of Lawrence, KS. She was beloved "Grandma" to six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. M.J's kindness and graciousness touched many lives and she will be sorely missed. Cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held on November 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Lutheran Church.
