Mary Peterson

Peterson, Mary Ellen (Milkamp) Age 74 Centreville Went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 7 at Bronson Hospital. Mary was born January 23, 1947 in Muskegon, the daughter of Arnold and Anna Milkamp (Zandt). She graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School in 1965 and Calvin College in 1969 with a degree in education and majors in music and English. She worked professionally as an organist and choir director at Southern Heights CRC, First Congregationalist, First Presbyterian, Portage First United Methodist (now Pathfinder), and Second Reformed Church. She also worked at Pewamo-Westphalia High School and the Kalamazoo Gazette. She taught piano for many years and played at many weddings and funerals in the Kalamazoo area. On July 9, 1988, she was united in marriage to her loving husband Larry. She lived with him at their "river house" enjoying sunset views until her death. Also surviving are her sons Tim (Amber) Roseboom, Jason (Pamela Montgomery) Roseboom; stepson Tim (Kelly) Peterson; grandchildren Abbie (Steven) Kish, Maddie Peterson, Tim Peterson, Lula Schmidt, Tess Schmidt; sister and best friend Joyce (Phil) Nelson; brothers Jay (Nancy) Milkamp, Paul Milkamp (Sally Yonkers), John (Beth) Milkamp; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Second Reformed Church, 2323 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, 49008 this summer.
