Mary (Molyn) McNee, 89, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away quietly on Wednesday morning, April 18, 2007, at Southwest Regional Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 5, 1918 in Windsor Locks, CT, the daughter of Wasyl Molyn and Annastasia (Kogut) Molyn.

Mary was a homemaker, wife and loving Mother all her life.

Mary had married Russell G. McNee on March 4, 1944 in Elkton, Maryland; however, he preceded her in death on May 22, 1990.

She is survived by one son: Donald K. and Janet McNee of Richland, MI; her daughter: Sally J. & Thomas Dempsey of Marshall, MI; two step-daughters: Barbara Bleser of Cave Junction, OR and Mary Jane McLeish of Portland, OR; grandchildren: John R. and Mita Fitzjohn (Sarah, Averie and Evan) of Ada, MI; Major Timothy and Kathy Luedecking (Courtney and Justin) of Ft. Stewart, Georgia; Brian and Laurie Klok (Jacob and Alaina) of Parchment and her special friend, Elaine Holly, of New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1974, her mother in 1968, her husband, three brothers: Andrew Molyn in 1946, John Molyn in 1993, and Michael Molyn in 1964.

Mary graduated from Windsor Locks High School in 1935 and came to Battle Creek in 1945.

She loved cooking and enjoyed sharing. She loved little children and would baby-sit many when she was younger. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo and was an avid reader. She enjoyed her neighbors and was like the "official greeter" for new neighbors.

During World War II Mary was a WAC in the US Army with the Second Detachment Signal Service Battalion, receiving an honorable discharge in June of 1944. She had received training in Morse Code and attended Radio School in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and member of VFW Auxiliary #565; and when her children were younger she was active in school, Girl Scouts and both Cub and Boy Scouts.

Visitation will be after 9 AM Friday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service where the family will receive friends from 4-6 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM with Deacon Albert W. Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery where Military Committal honors will be conducted. Memorial tributes may be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church or the West Michigan Cancer Center of Kalamazoo. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. (269)965-5145.
