Obituary
Mary E. Ehrlich, 67, of Battle Creek, went home to her heavenly father on Thursday, May 5, 2011 while surrounded by her family and friends. Mary was born April 30, 1944 in Battle Creek to Philip and Virginia (Olmstead) Sly. She was a 1963 graduate of Lakeview High School. Mary enjoyed golf, lake activities including riding her jet ski, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Her family was blessed with Mary being a caregiver of her grandchildren while encouraging her own children to pursue careers. She also was the "neighborhood babysitter" and had a positive impact on many kids throughout her years. Mary is survived by her three daughters, Dawn (Todd) Smith, Pam (Jim) Foote, and Kim (Rich) Brown; six grandchildren; a brother, David (Norma) Sly, and a sister, Barbara (Dave) Sly Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband, Dennis. At the request of the family, they will receive friends on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday May 10, 2011 from 1-2 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. The Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Mary's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the funeral home, Celebrant The Very Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
