Cook, Mary 4/1/1927 - 3/25/2020 Kalamazoo Mary Rose Cook was born in South Haven April 1, 1927 & died on Wednesday March 25th. She was the daughter of Raymond Konrath and Rose (Lorenz) Konrath. In 1949 Mary wed Roger who was the love of her life. They set up home near Parchment & enjoyed 48 years together. Many summers were spent on Saddle Lake & winters in Florida. Mary was a snowbird, often spending Halloween to Easter in her winter home on Big Pine Key. Due to Alzheimer's the last years of her life were spent in a memory care unit. She was a devout catholic and rarely missed a Sunday Mass. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger Cook (1997), brothers Raymond Konrath and Joseph Konrath, brother-in-laws: Duane Cook & John Bittner, sister-in-law Evelyn Dorkowski. Surviving are: 3 daughters, Diane (John) Bussema South Haven/KZ, Linda (Bill) Bechtel of Big Pine Key & Terry(Raymond)Letto (Cook) of Battle Creek,1 son Gary (Tami) Cook Kalamazoo, sister Laura Bittner, brother Fred Konrath in California, sister-in-law Lois Cook of Hartford. Mary has nine surviving grandchildren: Tonya Bussema, Sara (Josh) Teitelman, Julie (Hunt) Holladay, Jaclyn (John) Klimek, Levi & Dana Bechtel, Amy Sutherland (Cook), Josh Cook & Gregory Skitt. Mary has 12 surviving Great Grandchildren: Ethan, Marina & Clara Bussema, Avery & Rylee Teitelman, Daniel & Samantha Holladay, Kaylin & Mathew Klimek, Amira, Aliya,& Zakariya Sutherland. Mary has 13 surviving nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St Ambrose in Parchment when it can be scheduled. Interment of ashes will be at Arlington Cemetery; 56845 28th Ave. Bangor, MI 49011 Memorials may be directed to the church or charity of your choice. Many friends and family enjoyed her sweet smile and loving arms.
