Mary Ann Louise Greider, age 89 of Leonidas, passed away peacefully at her home on April 24, 2024, also known as "Bridge Club Day". She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on December 1, 1934 the daughter of Elmer and Mary Margaret (Detmer) Kramer. Mary Ann attended Riley High School and was part of the 1953 graduating class. Shortly after graduating, she would marry Sherman D. Greider on November 29, 1953 in South Bend, IN. Mary Ann attended the University of Indiana/Purdue University in Indianapolis, Glen Oaks Community College, and Nazareth College; all to further her studies as a Certified Medical Assistant. She was a busy woman who always wanted to help others. Mary Ann worked at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, doctors' offices in Mendon, Vicksburg, and Sturgis, was an office manager for the Cardiac Association in Kalamazoo, an Amish Clinic Volunteer, and the Community Mental Health in Battle Creek. When she wasn't busy working, she was heavily involved with the Mendon Women's Club, sang in the Mendon Kiwanis Showboat Choir, and was a 4-H leader and teacher. Mary Ann was also a reading tutor at Leonidas Elementary School and a Brownie Leader. Mary Ann and her loving husband Sherman were heavily involved with St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon. She would often donate her time cleaning the church grounds, was a member of the Altar Society, and taught Sunday School after Mass. Helping others was Mary Ann's true calling in life and what a successful life it was.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Sherman; five children; Sherman, Jr. (Mary Ann) Greider of Perry, Gayle (Dan) Green of Portage, Gary (Sheryl) Greider of St. Johns, Gregg Greider of Lawton, and Christine McElhone of Mason; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; two sisters; Sandra Marshal and Linda (Mark) Bailey, brother James (Donna) McCabe; and brother in-law, Brian (Fran) Greider, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter in-law Nancy Greider, son in-law Timothy McElhone, brothers in-law Wayne Marshall, David Greider, and Lance (Hannah) Greider; sister in-law Barbara (Merton) Colburn; and two grandchildren; Elizabeth Walker and Adam McElhone.

In keeping with family wishes, cremation is being conducted. A memorial mass will be held for Mary Ann on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 12 Noon at St. Edward Catholic Church (332 West State Street, Mendon, MI 49072) with Msgr. Thomas Martin officiating.
