Obituary
SHOLTEN, MARVIN A. Marvin A. Scholten, born to John and Hermine Scholten on June 18, 1914, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 4, 2014 (just short of his goal of 100 years),. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Hank. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 73 years, Marian (Mulder) Scholten; children, Mary (Paul) Stroo, Tom (Sandy) Scholten, and Cindy Scholten; grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Beyer, Todd (Michelle) Stroo, Tom, Jr. (Melissa) Scholten, Brian (Candi) Scholten, Doug (Brandi) Scholten, and Mike (Julie) Scholten; great grandchildren, Bridget, Toby, Lexie, Taylor, Kelsie, Justin, Ashley, Raeanne, Branden, Makena, Kadance, and Carter; sisters-in-law, Jean Thompson and Cora Scholten; and many nieces and nephews. Marvin retired after 42 years at Fisher Body. The funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville (East Building) with Rev. James Evenhouse officiating. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4 - 7 pm at the Cook Funeral Home (West Building) and one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
