Marvin Elders Sr.

ELDERS - Marvin Elders Sr., age 91, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, great grandson, Hunter John Elders. Marv was a former councilman for Grandville as well as an electrician and a dairy farmer. Surviving are his sons, Roger and Cheryl Elders, Marvin J. and Marjorie Elders, John and Shirley Elders, Douglas and Judy Elders; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; brothers, Lewis and Albertha Elders, Alfred and Lucille Elders; brother-in-law, Gerald and Jen Schutter; sisters-in-law, Viola Schutter, Mary Jane Huttinga, Gertrude Schutter, Harriet Wierenga; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at Bethel United Reformed Church, 2025 Baldwin St., Jenison with Rev. Derrick Vander Meulen officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Wings of Mercy.
