Martina H. De Boe - Loving mother, grandmother and care giver passed away November 4, 2016 with her family at her side. Martina was born in Grand Rapids on May 22, 1924 to the late Edward and Jessie (TerMolen) Kalsbeck. Her life of community service began at the Butterworth School of Nursing where she received her nursing certification. Martina was a proud member of Cadet Nursing Program and was available for volunteer nursing opportunities with the Red Cross. She was the night shift charge nurse for over twenty years at the Christian Rest Home. Martina's life of service also included her church home, East Leonard Christian Reformed Church and especially, her family. She was a caring, loving and devoted wife and mother. Martina was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Jay in 2007. She will be missed by her children, Sue Brown of Hudsonville, Michael De Boe of Wyoming, Beth De Boe of Lansing and Debra (Matthew) Lehmann of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Benjamin and Amanda Lehmann; her brother, Dr. John (Jackie) Kalsbeck of Zionsville, IN; sister-in-law, Annetta Prins of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 9th at 1 PM at Van Strien-Creston Chapel 1833 Plainfield Ave. NE. Friends are welcome to visit the family beginning at Noon. Interment will be in Fairplains Cemetery. The family expresses special appreciation to the staff of Faith Hospice and Christian Rest Home for the care their mother received.
