Obituary
Mark David Oliver passed away peacefully in Denver, North Carolina, May 7, 2026. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of many, but his legacy of laughter, kindness, adventure, and unwavering devotion will live on forever.
Raised in Erie and Battle Creek he graduated from Lakeview High School. He later attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Spring Arbor University, earning associate and bachelor's degrees. Much of his professional life was with the Transmission Division of Eaton Corporation advancing from Technician to Sales and Service Manager. He earned the respect of colleagues and customers for his exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help others.
In 2014, Mark and his beloved wife, Erika, moved from Portage, MI to Denver, NC, where they created a life rich with friendship and adventures. North Carolina became a place he deeply cherished and proudly called home. Mark found his greatest joy outdoors. Whether fishing, hunting, hiking, or traveling to new destinations, he felt most at peace surrounded by nature. He shared these passions with his family through countless adventures across the United States.
Mark's greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, dependable brother, and fiercely loyal friend. His humor, intelligence, generosity, adventurous spirit, and steadfast love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann and Harold Oliver, and his younger sister, Susan.
He is survived by his wife, Erika Oliver; his sons and daughters-in-law, Erik and Natalie Oliver and Evan and Kaitlen Oliver; and his beloved granddaughter, Isabella Oliver, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his stepmother, Judy Oliver; his siblings and their spouses, Mary and Charles O'Conner, Karen and Tom Jowziak, David and Rita Oliver, Barb Rynberg, Greg and Jill Oliver; his brother-in-law, John Biljum; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Mark is remembered for the love he gave so freely, the wisdom and humor he shared, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. His memory will continue to live on through stories, adventures, and love shared by all who knew him.
