Cravens, Mark 1/3/1961 - 6/26/2021 Marana, AZ Mark Lawrence Cravens born to Larry and Suellyn (nee Jones) Cravens on January 3, 1961 in Santa Barbara, CA and raised in Kalamazoo, MI passed away on June 26, 2021 at home in Marana, AZ. He married Jennifer Daugherty on June 16, 2010. She survives. He graduated from North Cobb High School Class of 1978 in Kennesaw, GA. He then joined the Military and served in the Air Force (Active Duty), MI Army and Air National Guard, an Active Duty Tour at National Guard Bureau in Washington DC, IL Air National Guard, and AZ Air National Guard retiring in 2014 with a total of 22 years of military service. While patriotically serving, Mark graduated in 1997 from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's of Political Science and Government; 2018 from University of Advancing Technology with a Bachelor's of Network Security and 2019 with a Masters of Cybersecurity; and he was attending Dakota State University Graduate School pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy – PhD Cybersecurity Defense. During college, he was involved in College Republicans, Constitution Club, Eagle Forum Collegians, graduate of Morton C. Blackwell Leadership Institute, Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society, BlackHat Conference Associate, and the Robotics Club. He was of Mormon faith, Free Mason Knights Templar of the Scottish Rite, and a Master Genealogist for over 30 years. He was a compassionate person who was also conservative, intelligent, creative, and energetic with a zeal for creating new projects and to help others make their environment better. Mark was a patriot who loved raising his Siberian Huskies, other dogs, cats and fish. His hobbies included reading, writing, cryptology, genealogy, Freemasonry, motorcycles, drones, robots, camping and a lot more. One of his favorites was taking friends out on the side by side in the Marana area where he lived. He is also survived by his son Matthew, grandson Jacob, Timothy Cravens (Beckie) of Kalamazoo, MI; Wendy Green (fiance Jim Ortez) of Pullman, MI; Joseph Cravens (Cindy) of Oregon; Kari Banks of Florida, aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews and cousins. Mark was proceeded in death by his parents. Mark will be buried in the Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Marana. Burial will be private.
