Marjorie Boughner

The Greatest Generation lost another member when Marjorie Francis Boughner (Manial) died on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. She was 96.

Marge was born to Francis and Walter Manial in Saginaw, MI, on May 10, 1928. She was married to Jack Boughner on February 28,1948; he proceeded her in death in 2006. Marge is survived by two daughters, Judy Hiers (Rich) of Edwardsburg, MI, and Janice Myers of Seattle, WA; a son, Gary Boughner of St. Paul, MN; three grandchildren, Erin Myers of Oceanside, CA, Nathan Hiers (Shelley) of Norman, OK, and Jennifer Hiers of Columbus, NC; and a brother, Thomas Manial (Karen) of Frankenmuth, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Although always modest, Marge was an accomplished sewer, knitter and quilter. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed playing cards, working in a flower garden and volunteering at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Marge will be interred with Jack in a private burial in Ft. Custer National Cemetery in May 2025.
