Marilyn Smit

Marilyn left this world to be reunited with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Alamo Nursing Home. She was born December 19, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Robert and Enola (Spencer) Kelly. Marilyn enjoyed flower gardening and keeping up a nice home for her family. She was an active parishioner at First Baptist Church of Plainwell. On March 28, 1952 at Cooper Baptist Church she married Christopher Smit who passed away in 2013. Surviving are her children, Christopher (Anita) Smit of Maine, Laurel (Tim) Marsh of Kalamazoo and Lon Smit of Paw Paw; daughter-in-law, Nancy Smit of Battle Creek; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Lynn (Fred) Yager and Judy Smit. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Mark Smit. A private family visitation will be held. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
