Marie Kozar

Age 91, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Marie was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 18, 1928, the daughter of the late Guarionex "Joseph" and Charlotte (Kugal) Saladin. She moved to Michigan at a young age where she was raised on her uncle and aunt's farm in Bloomingdale. Marie was a retiree of the Upjohn Company. She was an avid golfer, was actively involved with the Portage Senior Center and a member of the Red Hat Society. Marie also attended Centre Ave Church of God. Her family will remember her as a beautiful and caring person. She is survived by her children, Anita (Jim) Wallace, Lori King and Timothy (Rick Rogers) Hiscock; grandchildren, Andrew Triebold, Jason Ritchie, Joseph (Dana) and Eric (Sophie) King, Christie Barnes, Ambre (Robert) Jackson and Kacee (Nick) Balkema; several great-grandchildren; brother, Albert (Zenaida) Saladin; and sister, Patricia (Wayne) Miller. Marie was preceded in death by her children, Robin Triebold, Rhonda Rafferty and Richard Hiscock; son-in-law, Michael King; special uncle and aunt, Herbert and Mary Jane Kugel; and sister, Jackie Elaman. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First Congregation Church, 345 W. Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Friends may meet with the family at the church beginning at 1:30 PM. Private interment will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
