Margaret James

James, Margaret A. Kalamazoo, Michigan Margaret A. James, age 82 of Kalamazoo, passed away at home on July 4, 2021. Marge was born March 14, 1939, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Roy and Virginia (Stimpson) Hiatt. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Augustine High School. On December 27, 1958, Marge married Richard James, who preceded her in death in 2004. She had worked as a secretary for the Kalamazoo Police Station and retired after 20 years with KRESA. Marge enjoyed reading and visiting the casino but above all she loved time with her family. Her family includes her children: Jeffrey James, Lori (Mike) Laughlin, Kim (Tom) LaPrise, and Chad (Pamela) James; her 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; her brothers: Bill (Sarah) Hiatt, Mike (Rick Akin) Hiatt, and Richard Hiatt; her sister-in-law Cheryl Hiatt; and nephew Casey Hiatt. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her daughter Karen James, and her brother Tom Hiatt. Friends may visit with her family on Friday, July 9, 2021, from 3-5 PM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
