Margaret Hammill

Margaret M. Hammill passed away on October 19, 2021. Margaret was born on November 3, 1923. She was the daughter of William and Hazel (Marshall) Steffler. She married her high school sweetheart, Frank Hammill on January 19, 1946. Frank preceded her in death on August 13, 2012. Margaret was a loving mother and is survived by her four daughters, Karen (Paul) Whelan of Coupeville Washington, Cheryl (Jim) Vemich of Clancy Montana, Denise (Rodger) Wolf of Saline Michigan and Cindy (Tom) Barrow of Vicksburg Michigan. Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who survive her. She is survived by her brothers Bernard (Mary) Steffler and Bob (Jane) Steffler, sisters-in-law Mary E. Steffler, Mary Hammill and Jane Kavanaugh and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Helen Green and brother Bill Steffler. Margaret lived life to the fullest with faith and love. She worked as a volunteer at Borgess Medical Center for 30 years. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, crafts, gardening and reading. Funeral arrangements have been made through Redmond Funeral Home. A prayer service for the family will be held at Redmond's on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 3:00PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11:00AM preceded by visitation at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorials may be made in Margaret's name to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
