Mardikelle Pozeznik

Mardelle Irene Pozeznik passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the age of 95. Born September 20, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Forrest and Gladys (Yeagley) Frederick. Mardelle met her future husband Martin Pozeznik, Jr. in Kalamazoo at the Saturday night YMCA dance. They married on April 7, 1951 and together they shared 57 years of marriage until his death in 2008. Surviving are her children, Diana (Bill) Vorholt and Roger (Marcie) Pozeznik; daughter in law, Nikki Pozeznik; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Lindsie, Kate, Alli, and Chris; 7 great grandchildren, Connor, Madison, Lia, Everly, Wren, Thomas, and Maelynn; siblings, Joanne Guarisco and Dean Frederick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; son, Fred Pozeznik; siblings, Forrest, Carl, Mary, Elizabeth, Virginia, Geraldine and Eugene. In addition to raising three children on the 400-acre dairy farm that her husband managed for Nazareth College, Mardelle worked a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime. She was the owner-operator of Mar-Delle's Beauty Shop, and she worked in sterile packaging at Upjohn and in the lunchroom at Comstock East Elementary School. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and sewing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th Street Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A luncheon will immediately follow the service with interment to take place at Mt.
