Mabel Stenesh

Mabel Stenesh of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away on October 31, 2025. She was born in Berkeley, CA on September 22, 1935, to Chester and Rose (Black) Holstein. Albany, CA was her childhood home. In 1957 she was united in marriage to Jochanan Stenesh. After a productive career in librarianship and library administration, she took an early retirement and pursued interests in sales, marketing, and book publishing. Passionate and caring about family, friends, and community, she touched many lives and will be missed. Surviving are her beloved husband, Jochanan, and beloved son, Oron; niece, Anna Berge and daughter, Frances; nephew Eric Berge and wife, Diana; dear family friends Kimberly A. Gheen and David Kinsey; cousins and their families. Predeceasing her were her son, Ilan, and sister, Louise Robertson. At her request, her body will be donated to medical research and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
