M. Joyce Larabee

Age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Joyce was born on January 9, 1943, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Hildred (Jack) Oscar and Katherine Mary (Jancasz) Mizeur.

On March 23, 1963, Joyce married the love of her life, Ronald Lee Larabee. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories over 59 years of marriage before Ron preceded her in death on March 3, 2022.

Family was the center of Joyce's world. She was a devoted mother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Her love, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her, and she created a home where everyone always felt welcome and loved.

Joyce will be deeply missed by her daughters, Julie McNee, Michelle (Pete) Eldridge, and Suzanne Larabee; her beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jared McNee and Alex and Mitchell Eldridge; her brother, Vince Mizeur; her sister, Evon Nuss; her sister-in-law, Nancy Althuis; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ron; her parents; her siblings, Char Mizeur, Anne (Chuck) Reynolds, Dennis Althuis, Kathy Mizeur, and Ed Nuss; her stepfather, Henry Althuis, who lovingly helped raise her; and her great grandson, Colton Lee McNee.

Friends may visit with Joyce's family from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 South Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Following the funeral service, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the home of Michelle and Pete from 2:00-5:00 PM. There, we will invite all to share stories and memories at approximately 3:30 PM. Private interment will take place on Monday at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park – South.
