Lyman Wood

Wood, Lyman Lyman C. Wood, 93, of Marcellus, MI, formerly of Middlebury, passed away at 10:54 am, on Thursday, October 13, at Rose Arbor Hospice House in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on September 15, 1929, in Wayland, NY, to Clifford and Marie (Blowers) Wood. On October 13, 1956, in Cohocton, NY he married Mary L. (Schulthesis) Wood, she died September 16, 2020. Surviving are three sons, Douglas (Margie) Wood of Marcellus, MI, John Wood of Middlebury, Gene (Gina) Wood of Grand Blanc, MI; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Clayton (Patricia) Wood of Wayland, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; three sisters, Pearl Totton, Nina McDowall, and Hazel Wood; brother, Harold Wood. Woody was the general manager for General Bag factory in Middlebury from 1970 to 1982. In 1982, he became the owner/operator of Woody's Cover Up in Middlebury until 1994. Lyman was a 50-year member of the Exchange Club of Elkhart County and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in White Pigeon, MI. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by a 2:00 pm memorial service on Wednesday, October 19, at the Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Rev. Tiffany McCafferty. Burial will be at a later date in Maple View Cemetery in Cohocton, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Golden Rod and Love Way.
