Luke Kuna

Luke G. Kuna, age 87, of Holland, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, at his home.

Luke was born in Holland February 3, 1921, to Stanley and Julia (Stec) Kuna. He was a lifelong resident of the Holland area and a graduate of Holland High School, class of 1940. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, Luke served in World War II. He spent over 25 years as a barber in Holland and also 25 years as a Real Estate agent. He owned and operated Lakeland Realty for 15 years. Luke was a Past Master of Unity Lodge 191 F & AM of Holland. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of Grand Rapids, a Knights Templar, York Rite, and a member of Saladin Shriner’s of Grand Rapids. Luke was also a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and had attended Grace Episcopal Church in Holland.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Kelly Jean Kuna, in 1959.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Mae Kuna; Children, Patricia and Denis Tabachuk , of Holland, and Greg and Tamara Kuna, of West Chicago; 3 Grandchildren; a Brother, Ted Kuna, of East Lansing; brother-in-law, Dr. George Lewis, of Grand Rapids; Nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, 1:00p.m., at Grace Episcopal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jennifer Adams. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
