Louie was born July 29, 1946 in San Antonio, TX to Francisco Godines and Juanita Munis. On June 20, 1970 Louie married the love of his life, Marjorie Moser. Together they raised two sons, Wyatt and Jeremy.
Louie was very active during his life serving both his country and his community. Louie was a proud member of the United States Navy for four years, including one year in Viet Nam. He worked as an electrical contractor for over 50 years and owned Midway Electric, Inc in Lawrence, MI. He was a charter member of the Southwest Michigan Horse and Buggy Club for 36 years and also a member of the Van Buren Draft Horse Club for over 40 years.
Louie and Margie had many memorable adventures during their 55 wonderful years together. From buggy club camp-outs at the cabin in Irons, MI, spending cold winters with their horse in Ocala, to the Grand Canyon with friends, there was always time to enjoy love and laughter together. The close friendships made at the fair resulted in many fun memories hosting pig roasts at the house, with close to 400 people from the community coming to enjoy the meal and friendship. Never one to miss a tailgating party, Louie was an avid U of M football fan, holding season tickets for over 25 years.
Louie will be missed by his wife, Marjorie; his sons, Wyatt (Stephanie) Godines, and Jeremy Godines; his granddaughter, Sarah (Tanner) Brodhagen; his great grandsons, Ty and Robbie; and his sisters, Susie Gonzales, and Olivia Guiterrez. Dear Louie, though you cannot always see the bird singing, if you listen with your heart, you can always hear his song. Though the ones we love may leave life as we know it, in our memory, the love we know will always carry on. Love, Marjorie
