Teichert, Lovette 1/8/1942 - 4/13/2022 Zeeland Lovette (Lovey) Janeen Teichert (Krueger) passed away at the age of 80 on April 13, 2022. Lovey was preceded in death by her parents: Robert A Krueger, Sarah Krueger (Mattes); brothers Robert Krueger Jr. and Roland (Sonny) Krueger and sister-in-law Coreen (Corky) Krueger. Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio-she graduated from Brunswick High School in 1960 before attending Kent State University with a double major in English and German. She was united in marriage June 12, 1965 to her husband Herman Teichert, whom she met at Kent State. Lovey later would earn her Masters in German Education from the University of Georgia. Lovey and Herman then moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1972 where she became an Instructor at Western Michigan University's Career English Language International Center for International Students CELCIS) from 1976-2003. Lovey was also active as German teacher for Kalamazoo College, Galesburg Public Schools, the Elizabeth Mayer Samstagschule at the Kalamazoo Public Library, and Portage Public Schools Personal Enrichment Program (PEP). She was also an active member of the Westwood United Methodist church in Kalamazoo. After retirement she and her husband moved to Zeeland, Michigan to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. She will be missed by her family: husband Herman Teichert; son William (Insook) of Chicago; daughter Heidi Draft of Zeeland; three grandchildren: Ruby Teichert, Ashleigh Draft, and Hayden Draft; her brothers Gary Krueger of Brunswick, Ohio and Leonard (Brenda) Krueger of Medina, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lovey also had many close friends and former students from all over the world-- spanning her lifetime of teaching-who will miss her tremendously. The family expresses profound appreciation and love for Sarah Forester, Kemais Guezmir and Kim Wood, who provided extra emotional, spiritual, and physical care for the past several months. Staff at both Kindred Hospice and Riley's Grove Assisted Living & Memory Care are commended for their support. In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral, and Lovey's remains have been donated to the Western Michigan University School of Medicine Body Donation Program in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A service to celebrate Lovey's life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Salvation Army (www.givesalvationarmyusa.org) as Lovey was a former bell-ringer, and it was one of her favorite charities. WMU School of Medicine Body Donation Program
