Obituary
Lorraine E. (VanDyke) McIntosh, 81, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025. She was born December 3, 1943. Lorraine was a longtime resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan and had recently moved to The Courtyard in Troy, Ohio.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents John VanDyke and Laura (Nash) VanDyke of Kalamazoo; her loving husband, David McIntosh; brother Roger VanDyke; and sister Suzanne Moorian.
Lorraine is survived by brother John (Betty) VanDyke; daughters Deborah Rysenga (Jerry Jorgensen) of Otsego; Rebecca Hare (Brad) of Tipp City, Ohio; six grandchildren – Ashley Parker, Haley Noe; Andrew (Chelsea) Rysenga; Riley Minor; Alec (Lauren) Hare and Tyler (Marissa) Hare; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves many friends who will sadly miss her.
Known affectionately as G-Lo to her grandchildren, Lorraine enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, sewing, bowling and crocheting. She was a hair stylist for nearly four decades. Lorraine attended Kalamazoo Central and Loy Norrix high schools, respectively. She had a love for her dogs, Sybil, Lucy and Max and anything with pink flamingos. In addition, Lorraine loved shopping and eating out with her friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services at 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo on Monday, March 24 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Fisher officiating. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the service.
