FULLER - Lola Ruth Fuller, aged 94, of East Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2009, at Clark on Keller Lake. She has now joined her Lord and beloved husband, William James Fuller MD, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1994. Lola was born on August 29, 1914, in Brown City, MI and married her sweetheart Bill on September 26, 1940. While he spent three years overseas during WWII, she worked as a court reporter in the 62nd Legislature of the Michigan Senate. While there, she introduced the bill that legalized archery deer hunting in the State of Michigan. When the war ended, she and Bill moved to Grand Rapids and he established his practice as a general surgeon at Blodgett Memorial Hospital. Lola enjoyed many years as a volunteer for the Blodgett Hospital Waters Guild. She loved spending time in her lovely gardens and taking care of all the Wildlife at her home on Reeds Lake. Lola was also an outdoor enthusiast accompanying her husband on many deer and turkey hunting trips, sailing adventures on Lake Michigan, and trout fishing at the family cabin. She is survived by her adoring children, Barbara Hoefler (Randy), Bill Fuller (Laura); her loving grandchildren, Tad Westdale (Stacey) and Halley Lydecker (Andrew); and her darling great grandson, Griffin. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff at Clark on Keller Lake for their friendship and their wonderful loving care of Lola for the past five years. We love and will miss you so much, our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandma. The family will be honoring Lola privately.
