Wilkinson, Lois A. Lois A. Wilkinson, 87, formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away April 16, 2020. She was born June 28, 1932 in Troy, New York to the late Allen and Margarite (Hammond) Bradley. Lois was a 1949 graduate of Lawton High School at the age of 16 and continued her education at Albion College. Then graduating from the Bronson School of Nursing in 1953. She worked for Bronson Methodist Hospital as a registered nurse until her retirement in 1991. For many years Lois also taught at the School of Nursing. Lois was united in marriage to Roger Wilkinson in October of 1954. They had two children Gloria and Thomas. Roger preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Nathaniel Dowdy, in 2014; son-in-law, Terry Dowdy in 2004; and brother, George Bradley. After retirement she and her husband moved to Florida, where she taught Bible School for over 15 years in Pine Island. They continued to spend their summers in Northern Michigan at the family cottage which they had built in 1967. Lois was an avid reader and loved cooking, crocheting, fishing, jig saw puzzles, and family vacations. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Wilkinson-Dowdy, and son, Tom (Cheryl) Wilkinson; grandchildren, Heather Dowdy, Kelly (Ben) Brusselmans, and Eric Wilkinson; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Kyson, Jackson, Nolan, and Stella; sister-in-law, Peggy Bradley; and niece, Susan (Mark) Finster. Due to failing health, in 2016, Lois moved in with Gloria and Heather Dowdy. They would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who helped and supported them throughout the arduous journey: Bradley Koster, Paul Chase, Rylan Koster, Kim Eichler, Linda Rowgo, Hillary Coffindafer, Merry Greene, Shanda Austin, and the staff at Wings of Hope Hospice. Due to COVID-19, private services will be held for the immediate family. Lois will be laid to rest at Mount Ever Rest in Kalamazoo.
