Rayman, Lois Galesburg, Michigan Lois A. (Reams) Rayman of Galesburg, MI, went to meet her Lord and Savior on September 24, 2021 with her daughter by her side. Lois was born April 1l, 1932 in Battle Creek, MI to Nathan Ashley and Marguerite Lucille (Morse) Reams. Lois was an only child, raised in the country. She made friends easily and cherished each and every one of them. Her cousins Steve and Nancy were like siblings to her and she has remained close to them throughout her life. Lois met her lifetime love, Theron (Skeet) Rayman in High School at Galesburg where she graduated in 1950. They were married September 7, 1951 at the home of her parents. While Skeet was in the Air Force they lived in Denver, CO and in California. Lois worked a short time at Upjohn Company while Skeet was in Japan during the Korean Conflict. She retired in 1994 from the Coronet Advertiser where she worked after her girls were born until her retirement. Lois and Skeet were busy, raising their 2 daughters, Sandy and Lori. Lois was a Girl Scout leader and made costumes for the girls for dance recitals. Lois and Skeet had many lifelong friends and never met a stranger. As a family they enjoyed annual vacations, camping trips, fishing, swimming and spending time at the family cottage at Long Lake Cloverdale. Often you would find them having a cup of coffee, tea or breakfast with friends at "The Greeks". They enjoyed gathering with friends and all the kids, parties, playing cards, meals together and made childhood very special with so many fun memories. Lois enjoyed reading romance novels, fishing, swimming, crafts, oil painting, and knitting. She taught several friends to knit or crochet. Lois enjoyed cooking and collecting and trying out new recipes. The family all had favorites that she would make for our birthday dinners. Lois was involved in the community and Greater Galesburg Day Craft show organization. Lois loved her family and friends, showed no favoritism, was accepting, strong, grateful, protector of feelings and radiated love. Lois loved her four grandsons deeply, Mike (Sara) Hough, John Jr. (Carin) Groh, Marc (Ana Booth) Hough, and Daniel Groh, along with her Great Grandchildren Theron, Nolan, and Alexis Hough, who knew her as "Grammy". The kids remember always feeling special when they were with Grandma. She taught them love, caring, sensitivity, how to do crafts, bait their hooks and take off the fish they caught, how to jump off the dock, made them Braunschweiger and Miracle Whip sandwiches, read stories to them, colored with them, did puzzles with them, made them homemade cakes when they were young in the shapes of rocking horses, fish or whatever shape she thought they would like. Lois loved dogs with her favorites being Doxies and Scotties. She will be deeply missed by her Mazie and Maggie. Lois is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Daniel) Hough, and Lori (Carl Schwiderson) Groh, her 4 grandsons, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and 2 sisters in laws. A memorial service will be held at Galesburg Congregational United Church of Christ, 22 S. Church St. Officiated by Rev. Bob Bond on Saturday, October 2,2021 at 12 noon with a fellowship luncheon to follow. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Congregational United Church of Christ or Galesburg Charleston Memorial District Library. Please visit Lois's personalized online guestbook at https://www.langelands.com
