Lois Burkett

Lois I. Burkett 85 of Thompsonville, formerly of Muskegon area, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Lois was born on April 15, 1923 in Muskegon the daughter of Charles and Hulda (Phelps) Price. She attended college and received her teaching degree. She was a teacher and also worked for the Muskegon Social Services. Lois loved teaching, gardening, crocheting, cooking and the piano. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Raymond Taylor and Winfield Burkett, children, Deborah Fenech, Raymond, Daniel, Harry and Leah R. Taylor, sisters, Mary Witter, Carol Price and brother, Fred Price. Lois is survived by her son, Charles Taylor of Thompsonville, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, brother, John (Lucille) Price, sister, Winnona Pothoff, step-daughters, Sharon Belmarez, Pam Burkett and Lorraine Engle and step-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pomona Bible Church, 16101 Marilla Rd., Copemish, Michigan 49625. Memorial Services will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Pomona Bible Church.
