Lloyd G. Laurian died Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 91 with his loving wife Barbara at his side. He was born August 14, 1931, to the late Donald and Rhea (Adams) Laurian in Kalamazoo. Lloyd graduated from Kalamazoo Central in 1949 and joined the Navy in 1950 and served four years during the Korean War. He spent two years in Air Transportation squadron 8 and two years in Transportation squadron 2. His duty was working with weights and balances on the USS Martin, the largest flying boat in the world. After being honorably discharged he was employed by the Upjohn Company for 35 years, where he was awarded the Upjohn Award in 1973.

He and his wife, Barbara, had been married 48 years. They spent many happy days at their summer cottage and their winter home in Florida. Lloyd enjoyed auto racing and never missed the Indy 500. He also enjoyed anything to do with aviation and spent many happy hours flying with his buddies, Bob Arnold and Gordon (Dee) Youngs.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald "Bud" and Terry; sisters, Norma Wells and Doris Plummer; brother-in-law, Ken Frisbie and step-son, Russ Burris. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sister, Helen Frisbie; four children from a previous marriage, Debora (Ron) Kayzak, Dawn (Bryce) Rollins, Pamela Largent, and Lloyd V. (Susie) Laurian; step-daughter, Nancy (Larry) Bush; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Lloyd's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Private inurnment will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Vineyards Assisted Living and CentricaCare Navigators for their loving care of Lloyd. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospitals, in memory of Lloyd.
