Liz Parker, originally of Vicksburg, MI, passed away May 26, 2004 in Phoenix, AZ. Liz was born January 18, 1941, the daughter of Maurice and Mary Rawlinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her three siblings: Margaret Merrill, Charles Rawlinson and Rita Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Parker and her husband John "Jack" Beaman. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Steve) Sieja, along with many nieces and nephews.

Liz grew up in Vicksburg. Her family owned the appliance store Rawlinson Electric. Liz worked part-time at Klein's drugstore, saving money to attend business school. Out of school she worked many years for Newman Audio Visual, a company that loaned films to area school systems.

Liz concluded her career working for Kalamazoo County Circuit Court, employed during the time when personal protection orders were first implemented. Liz developed guidelines for managing this new process to ensure those needing protection got the help they needed, but avoiding system abuse and overwhelming the court system. She assisted those unable to file the paperwork. She was so successful in this that she was invited to statewide conferences to help other counties struggling to implement personal protection orders.

Liz enjoyed many things. She liked to paint and studied china painting. Liz was outgoing and had many friends. She loved getting together with people for a beer and a meal, or a trip to a casino! She loved animals and contributed to several animal charities. She enjoyed travel and she and George made many group trips with the 401st Bomb Group. George was a tail gunner with the 401st during World War II. After George died, Liz met and married Jack. Together they enjoyed the snowbird lifestyle in Arizona, eventually relocating to Sun City West.

In keeping with her wishes, the funeral for Liz will be a simple graveside service at the Vicksburg Cemetery on West W Ave (Highway St.), in Vicksburg. It will be followed by a lunch where those who loved and cared for Liz can celebrate her life. The funeral is scheduled September 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. Rev. Ted Stanley, Elkhart IN, will officiate.
