Linda Alice Roller, aged 64, of Grand Rapids, slipped into our Lord's loving arms on Friday, August 15, 2008, after a brave and valiant six-year battle with breast cancer. Linda was born June 18, 1944, in Livonia, MI, to Alice and Sheldon Green. She is survived by her husband, Richard Roller; four children, Cynthia Landon, Jenny (Tony) Heinz-Tharp, Scott Allen, Stacey Allen; four grandchildren, Chloe Landon, Elizabeth and Ryan Heinz, Adrielle Caskey; two step-children, Kristine (Jason) Landuyt, Daniel (Kerry) Roller; seven step-grandchildren, Brady and Noah Landuyt, Bennet Roller, Hunter, Austin, Camden Tharp, Heather Murphy; brother, Dennis (Sue) Green; sister, Joan (Peter) Grob; along with countless nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Sheldon and Alice Green, sister, Jean Azure; and son-in-law, Randy Heinz. Linda embraced the Christian faith and was baptized at Brightside Community Church where she and Rick were members. She credited her strong faith in God with the strength that kept her going through countless operations and treatments, though you never heard her complain. Linda loved her large family dearly as the center of her life. She maintained a bright and cheerful outlook and was a true inspiration to everyone who knew her. Linda enjoyed a 25-year career with Consumers Energy Co. until she retired in the spring of 2002. The Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, at Brightside Community Church, 8175 Broadmoor SE, with Pastor John Lowder officiating. Burial to follow in Traverse City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Faith Hospice. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday at: STROO FUNERAL HOME 1095 68TH ST. SE www.stroofuneralhome.com
