Linda, 70, passed away peacefully, on September 4, 2020, at home with her family present. Linda was born May 17, 1950 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Duane and Mary (Mozelle) Coult. She grew up in the Hickory Corners/Augusta area of Michigan. Linda graduated from Gull Lake High School (GLHS) in 1968 and attended Ferris State University in 1968-1970. As a young child, Linda had her hand caught in a mangle which severely burned several fingers. As a result, her parents were encouraged to provide piano lessons in an attempt to keep her fingers functioning--which was successful. Linda shared that healing process allowed her to be so good at typing and allow her career to be so successful as a secretary. Linda was a GLHS cheerleader and was selected to be their Homecoming Queen. She so enjoyed being an active member and participant in the Fine Lake 4-H Lucky Star Riders club, especially the numerous horse fun-shows at their family farm and riding (bareback) from Hickory Corners to Sparta (two camping stops overnight on the way to and from) for the annual rodeo. Since the Lucky Star Riders were consistently first to arrive, Linda was given the honor of carrying the American Flag on her horse (Specs) to open the rodeo. At Ferris she was an active member of the sorority Zeta Tau Alpha. Linda appreciated and valued the yearly trips to Georgia, her Mom's home, for the annual family reunions (85 as of 2019) where she reunited with her GA family. As the result of her Dad being injured seriously in a vehicular accident, Linda returned home from Ferris in 1970 to help her Mom and Dad. She was employed at Beech Products from 1970 to 1972. In 1972 she joined The Upjohn Company Animal Health International Division in Portage and then transferred to The Upjohn Company Animal Health Research & Development group in 1978 where she remained until her retirement in 2005. Linda enjoyed sharing that she worked for "many companies" but never moved (Upjohn, Upjohn-Pharmacia, Pharmacia, Pfizer). Linda was a superb secretary and resisted all attempts to "label" her as an Administrative Assistant. Following retirement from Pfizer, Linda was employed as a secretary at Richland Bible Church (2005 to 2011) and then as gardener by Yarrow Conference Center and then Skywood Recovery Center (2011 to 2014). Linda loved her flower gardens. Linda married Cliff Sadler in 1978 and they had Anna (Mozy, 1980) and Joe (1981). Having been divorced for many years, she married Jim Lauderdale in 1998. They built a log home on her parent's farm, which allowed Linda to state "I did not go very far in life, from the front of the farm to the side of the farm." Linda relished her trips and tours of Israel, Egypt, Belgium, Netherlands, France, and Brazil. Linda is survived by her mom, Mary Mozelle Coult, husband, Jim Lauderdale, children Anna (Mozy) (John) Lammers, Joe (Lindsay) Sadler, Angie (Jamie) Majewski, Jaime (Steve) Mickelson, grandchildren, Charlette, Anna, JJ, Caiden, Harleigh, Eliana, Alex, Aiden, Brady, and Mia, brothers, Rick (Darla) Coult and Bill (Sharon) Coult, niece, Maggie (Mike) Clark and nephew, JD (Nicole) Coult and numerous cousins, great nephews and nieces. Linda is remembered, respected, and admired for her smile, laughter that always brightened the room, positivity to every challenging situation, tremendous faith, beautiful personality that gave of self to help others be better as a person and enhance their competence, a competent secretary, a friend, a person filled with grace. Linda is remembered by hundreds of family, friends, colleagues (as attested by the 166 cards, hundreds of texts and E-mails, and the 200+ attendees at her candlelight vigil two days before she passed) and will not be forgotten because we will treasure the blessing of knowing her, whether for a few days or 70 years. The Funeral Service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Friday, September 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the gracespring Bible Church, 8643 Gull Road, Richland, MI 49083 with the Rev. Bryan L.
