Leilani Kuuipo Ordway

Ordway, Leilani Kuuipo 12/13/1965 - 1/7/2023 Kalamazoo Passed away at home, Saturday January 7, 2023. Leilani was born to the late Perce and Shirley (Turner) Ordway on December 13, 1965, in Torrance, Los Angeles. After graduating high school, she went on earn a PhD in psychology which she used in her profession as a veteran psychologist who specialized in trauma. She helped to establish a program known as Operation Purple, that was to help families, especially the children of deployed service men. This program was recognized in Time magazine. She also volunteered her services after 9/11 to help first responders deal with the trauma they would go through as they were performing their jobs. It would be her love of animals, and her volunteer work with animal rescues that gave her the most joy. Surviving Leilani is her spouse, David Hoffner, and many friends. Preceding her in passing are her parents. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and no service will be held at this time.
