Surrounded by his loving family, Leigh M. Lucareli, age 82, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017. Leigh was born in Racine, March 4, 1935, son of the late Marion (Tom) and Lucille (Nee: Koran) Lucareli.

He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a graduate of William Horlick High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. On September 21, 1963, he was united in marriage to Peggy McBride. Leigh was employed by Western Publishing Company for 35 years, retiring in 1995. An avid outdoorsman, Leigh enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and he adored spending time with his only daughter. He studied classical piano and guitar. More than anything he cherished time spent with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Peggy; his children, Brian (Amy) Lucareli of Racine, Margo (Robert) Quinn of Arlington Heights, IL, Mick (Missy) Lucareli of Racine; grandchildren Allison (Jake) Thomas, Sarah, McKenna, Jane, Ben, Jake, RJ, Keegan, Henry, and Brody; Great-grandchild Leo Thomas, his brother, Les (Ann) Lucareli of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Diane) Lucareli and granddaughter, Emily Lucareli.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017, 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home, followed by a visitation. Private interment with Full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
